dreams define reality as death defines life |
dreams represent that which is not while reality represents
that which is. there are basically two kinds of dreams. common dreams which
reflect falsehoods and hopes and fears and true dreams which contain the
truth. i have had few true dreams and they tend to be symbolic.death defines
life the same way light is defined by the dark. one without the other would
render the one meaningless. a child is fascinated by the thin spoke of light
issuing forth from his flashlight. the spoke is given form by the dark curled
about it. the spoke illuminates that which was unseen in the dark. this
play between the light and the dark through the medium of time represents
change. a rose blossoms from a bud and blooms. in time the petals fall off
and the rose withers. is the beauty of the rose only seen in the moment
of its bloom? i find the beauty in the change from inception to the moment
the last petal falls. without death we would be left with those plastic
flowers you find in bad restaurants that sit and gather dust for eternity.
life is change. life is the knowledge that death awaits. so live... |
